Quick Update - I'll be at Gencon this weekend, so the main post will be delayed by a day or so.
Before we get into specific examples, I wanted to give a brief rundown of how I'm approaching campaign deep dives.
My goal for each of these articles is to examine a specific intersection of a game and a system of prep. I'll talk about how these interact and things I learned while working on the game in qeustion. For some games I'll talk about very specific plugins or structures or similar that are useful for that game, but maybe not useful in general. But some of the stuff will hopefully be generally applicable, and I hope it will spark ideas at least.
I won't be doing general reviews of the game in question. I'm sure my opinions will leak through, but I'm not going to spend much time doing overviews of rules, setting, etc. I'll touch on our experiences at the table where it is relevant, especially when there is a direct connection between prep work and how it turned out, but everything will be through the lens of "this was how my table experienced things", not a general review.
I'll try to provide links to the basics, but I'm assuming anyone reading this is capable of tracking down background information on their own.
Alright, on to the games!
